I was hoping you could help me w/ a problem! My 97 J is losing water from a short hose that connects to the block (i think it connects to the block). The top hose comes off the radiator and connects to some aluminum and back to a sshort hose just before the block. I was wondering if you knew what that hose is called? It is centered over the top of the fan belt shiv. ANy direction or help you can give regarding access and proper identification (part name/number) would be greatly appreciated!

yea.... no it's not. found out today it's called a bypass hose. there are two of them 3 inches long and 1.25" id. From infiniti they cost $41 for the pair. BUT as it turns out, it was only the hose clip that was brittle and not sealing the hose. So I managed to get an adjustable hose clamp on it and it sealed it right up. If the hose ever needs replaced, the whole front end will have to be removed similar to water pump/timing belt replacement. Thank god for now it was only that clip.

Thanks to all for attempting to help, will have more later I'm sure.
