When I bought my 240sx I found out that the top didnt work. I took a test light amd checked both wires. There was no power there. When I hit the "top up" or "top down" switch, I can feel and hear what I think is a relay clicking. (can't see it to be sure) I am really new to these cars and convertibles all together. Can anyone help me out here? Is there a fuse or something for the top? (couldn't find one) Thanks

Did you check to see if the valve is turned to operate with power or to operate manually? There's a little gray box in the back right of your trunk. Underneath is the hydraulic motor for operating the top. See which way it's turned.

Also, make sure you've got the top unhooked from the windshield frame.

Right now the valve is turned for the power to work for it. The top was actually down when I bought the car and I actually cant figure out how to get it to latch to the windshield so I can park it outside if needed.

how's the fluid level in the pump?

Check the sticky thread atop the forum for the FSM manual. download the FSM to your computer so you have it handy. There is a whole chapter on the top and pumps and rams and wiring and all that crap. It should help you a ton.
