I had the 2" lift put on my Pathy a few months ago, and I still hear the top out noise when going over drop offs in the road. So i was wondering if there is a way to fix this permanently?

I was thinking about taking the pathy to a welding shop and having them extend the place where the front strut attatches at the bottom. If they could bring that up 2 inches inside of there and leave the spring down at the same level it's at now, there would be no more bang.

I was pondering on doing a 2" ac lift sometime in the future...posts like this makes me want to just stick to stock setup
Maybe just upgrade the shocks to Ranchos or KYBs---

Also wondering did yours require manual locking hubs?

There is no requirement for locking hubs, thats a choice you can make. Some do it to save gas mileage. I did springs and Rancho 9000xl shocks, but the problem is that they aren't longer than our regular shocks. So, i was thinking about having someone raise the spot where the strut mounts and leaving the spring at the height i'm at now.

arent there several versions of those shocks? (reference 4x4parts dotcom)
there are ones specified for stock and lifted (2" variety) ...you have the stock length rancho? (my bad---2" lifts dont require longer shocks ----sorry / but they do sell them)

There are several versions yes. However, there are no longer ones. I just called them and asked what we could do to stop the top out and he said nothing. There is only so much up or down movement in the actual suspension of the pathy, so a longer strut would allow the cv boots and axles to over extend and fail(break). I told him that in daily driving i hear the strut top out and just wanted a fix or solution for it. He said there is no fix.Thats all we can do.

Don't get me wrong, I love it. I love the way it looks and rides. That is the only problem i have. He said that the struts have a lifetime warranty.

I have been thinking about that for sure. I saw that a couple of months ago. Thank you for reminding me.
