i've read the faq about the speed governer thing, it says there is just the one little yellow and green wire to cut and then i can continue to acceleate into 5th gear. now i think i found the correct wire in the little bundle of wires just to the left of the battery? well now to the point of this post. i'm scared, does this really work and will anything else get screwed up like my tach or speedometer. has anyone actually tried this, and if this little trick falls through, can i fix what i've done. thank you. peace

his sig is talking about how people do drugs and wont stop even if loved ones want them too, cause they are addicted, and if you take it away and have something better, then they will jump out a window:D

i have a 93 240sx and me and a friend had to unplug two sensors on the transmission and cut one wire on the ecu. we tried doing one at a time first. its been over a year now so i cant really remember which one did what, but if you only do one it will increase the speed governer by 5-10 mph. so you we had to do both. before i blew the motor in my car last weekend i could get 5th gear up to about 5500-5700 on a really long straight. i wish i knew how fast we were going because it seemed like we were really hauling assss.

In my opinion it would be chronic over mersh, and in my opinion i would read more and ask around a lot mroe before i cut a wire. but thats just me. Bad thigns could happen if you cut the wrong wire. :rolleyes

Its the YELLOW wire...afaik. Disconnecting the speed sensor on the transmission can be horrible.

You know whats even better to get rid of the limiter...and ECU remap. No cutting, no disconnecting, just a software reprogram. (Sounds like the best route to me)

since this thread is alive again, i havn't read the write up recently or know which wire(S) to cut, but as long as you have a soldering iron and and come electrical tape, you can put the wires back together, wrap them up, an everything will be hunkydory.

I wish I knew....I heard something about soldering a new socket connector to the ECU so you can literally get rid of the old rom, and reflash a new EEPROM to suit your needs. AFAIK this is harder than just buying a standalone, piggyback, cutting the yellow wire, or JWT reprogram. I would love to be able to have my ultralight (my tiny little laptop) in my car giving me readings of everything going on tho... (which would be how you reprogram the new EEPROM)

I dont need anything fancy but im not going to go out and start snippin wires off the trany or the ecu. right now i dont have the kind of money it takes for using a laptop and a auto program to regulate my car.
