Hi Everyone,

I recently picked up used 2001 Nissan Maxima which needed some work. When I was replacing the radiator, I accidentally drained out some of the Transmission Fluid into the pan I was collecting the coolant it. I was going to replace the coolant anyway, so that's not a big deal. But I want to top-off the transmission fluid back to the original level. I estimate I lost about a 1/3 of a quart of transmission fluid.

Anyway, is there a particular type or Dexron version of Transmission Fluid I should be using for my 2001 Nissan Murano, Automatic Transmission. I read that Dexron VI Fluid is backwards compatible with earlier versions of ATF, as well as hardware designed for versions of ATF.

But I wanted to check with the good folks here before doing this..
