It seems too good to be true, but if not go for it. Is the place you are buying it and authorized DEI dealer/ installer? If not then it is will not be under warranty if you have a defect or other problems. Is the model a responder? Like this one?

and were you adding 170 + 80 = 150, 250 right just a math error?
It is still a rather low price. What options are included with that price.
For example - Basic; if the doors are opened then armed the alarm sounds. Basic + expanded: when doors, trunk, hood are opened alarm sounds. Basic + expanded w/ shock and IGN: doors, hood, trunk, shock sensor, Ignition are active the alarm sounds.Basic + expanded w/ shock and remote start: doors, hood, trunk, shock sensor, Ignition are active the alarm sounds. Plus you can autostart vehicle by remote to cool down or warm up the interior, and get the motor to a normal operating temperature.Get the idea?I think that all DEI products are great, make sure you work at an authorized dealer so you get the most out of your purchase and continue to have a fully functional security system.
EDIT- I didn't read to carefully, sorry. If you can buy the alarm for $170 shipped, and then have one of your co-workers install it seems like a good idea. Just ask about the warranty and being authorized by DEI
