so im talking about turbo manifolds.

ive been looking around at the benifits of each setup to no avail.

i know the top mount has the turbo mounted on the top of the motor and the bottom, well you get the idea.

but whats are the differences between the two?

is there less clearance issues with one setup as to the other?

what about log stlye? wtf is that?

how about power? any differences?

im not being engine specific either ka or sr info is welcome

Log style is usually made of cast iron. It is more compact and usually (for the most part) allows for quicker spool. Most high boost applications have a header style though.

About the top/bottom mount thing, it's about the same. For most, it usually comes down to personal preference or clearance issues. There's a thread around here about the top/bottom mount debate.

Log style is usualy made from cast iron and is usually the strongest. Top and bottom mount is just the posistion of the turbo to the motor like you said. It doesnt really have much of a difference on performance, just preference. However equal length manafolds are usually better than log style, but more expensive. Log style is basic and cheap, while the stainless manifolds are lighter. A well built stainless is way better than a log in looks and performance, but log is cheap and reliable.
