I would like to start with saying I Searched on this topic and looked though the first few pages on the Ka-T section of NICO with no luck.
I was wondering if there was any significant difference, performance wise, between the type of Turbo Manifold you install on your car, whether it be Top Mount or Bottom Mount. Now, I understand that certain Turbos can only fit on Top Mount and certain Turbos can only fit on Bottom Mount. Beyond that, what benefit, if any, would Top have over Bottom, or Bottom have over Top.
If there is no specific "benefit" between Top and Bottom, which could hold a better quality Turbo (Also felt it would be important to state that this will be a Ka Manifold. I am going to be breaking down a S13 KaDe and do a little Clean and Re-build, then turbo.)
Little insight on what I was looking at (And if no difference, Top Vs. Bottom):
I am not looking to make 500hp, so I do not need anything extremely drastic, but I would like to have one that can push over 300hp. I believe that a T3/T4 can push out over 300hp (Correct me please, if I am wrong) and I am going Sleeper, but I would like a Top Mount so I can Flaunt what I have when the hood is up. So if a Top Mount T3/T4 (Or something comparable) combination can be done, that is what I will be looking for. I just started looking at Revhard Manifolds seeing quality seems good because it is Cast Iron but I have heard that Turbo Clearance is not the best.
Is there another Top Mount that is near same quality, good for near 400hp (Also is the limit of 400, 400 Crank or Wheel Horsepower, seeing that you can hit 400 Crank prior to Wheel), is not cast Iron & has better Turbo Fitment. Please no sarcastic SSAC comments, I stated 400hp not 40, 4-0.
Thank you in advance for the help.
