Very very sorry if this is a repost im new to the site and couldn't find a topic on it. What are the problems with a top mount or the benefits from it?

Top mount turbos offer nothing more than perpetual "bling factor".

No performance gains of any type, nor any other monetary gains.

Thank you very much! What about having more space on top vs between the block and fenderwell?

cons: costs alot and heatpros: t3 flange, looks cool, fit big turbo.

first decided witch route you want to go. If its a t-2 flange turbo stay bottom mount. If its a big turbo then consider top.

big problem I see is the brake master cylinder. The exhaust runs right by there and that is some crazy heat!

Heats an issue going top or bottom mount. The runners of a bottom mount end up running high and close to the brake cylinder too. Also with the hood closed, you trap the heat in there. Easy way to help the problem is by using a Brake Cylinder Shield. Megan Racing makes one i think. Biggest benefit to Top Mount is the T3 turbos which dont have near the back pressure issues of a T2 turbo does and external wastegates options are readily available. You can go external gate on a bottom mount but its custom fabing on the manifold to do so. Theres also the space issue with bottom mount. Top Mount FTW.
