anybody know where i can get a manifold that mounts the turbo up top? i have seen that HKS makes one, but i cant find it for sale anywhere. anybody have one they would sell? i need it to clear the steering shaft on my 510, and the custom do it yourself manifold that i bought isn't working out the way i like, and i would rather have stainless anyway. thanks

I think HKS has stopped making them, they are no longer listed in their catalog. I have two of them but I would want a good chunk of change to part with onefor obvious reasons. Also, while the turbo mounts on top the wastegate protrudes staight down underneath and would probably hit the steering as well. Have you thought about making a tubular steel one?

i didnt know the hks manifold was set up for external waste gate. i really havent been able to find any info on them, just pics of them mounted in cars. i have the flanges and pipeing to make a tubular maniflod, but i dont currently have access to a welder, and i think the HKS one would be of better quality then i can do. what turbo is the HKS manifold for? thanks for the help

the ones on ebay are for and sr20det, not ca18, and they still put the turbo in the stock bottom location. thans for the help though

it has a T4 Garrett flange but can be redrilled for T3(I have one of each so I know it works). It mounts an HKS standard wastegate directly underneath the turbo mounting point so look at a picture with that knowledge and think about how it would sit in your car. Now the way you describe the fit problem you are having the wastegate will be right where you don't want it but if you put an actuated turbo on the HKS manifold you could bolt a plate over the wastegate flange and it might clear your steering.

i got my head flange from mad dat motorsports in australia. if you bing an exhaust manifold gasket to a machine shop they can cut you one out of plate stock with a plasma cutter.

themadscientist: do you think you could give some ruff measurements of the manifold? im in no big rush right now with christmas comming, but if you get bored id appreciate it

thanks

Usualy people charge for a setup fee. But I can hopefully get it somewhere, if not I will make my own. Where can you get the part numbers for alot of CA parts? Is there some sort of parts faq? Thanks AL

hey, if your in Orlando you need to hook up with me somtime, Email me offlist and we'll chat. I'm also running the HKS manifold on my 240, I'm assuming you got Mark's old motor and manifold....

anyhow, I'll talk to you later, I can answer a lot of your CA questions and it's always nice to have another CA nut here in town.

Why not buy a header for a Pulsar CA? who cares that it's for a FWD you just need the flange and some pipe to work with, booya!

turbo manifold pipe is slightly different from standard header pipe. I either make my turbo mani's out of 321 or 304 stainless. I wish hotshot made a turbo manifold build kit, like they do for teh SR. oh well... Nice talking to you Paul, we definately have to chat more.
