I picked up a CA18DET for my 89 Pulsar SE, would like to Intercool it, but I'm thinking that top mount factory one on some units looks very cool when opening the hood, but doesn't it defeat the purpose when it's resting on top of a hot motor?

If you have one with the plumbing, let me know how much. Thanks!

Please don't waste your time with that intercooler. It really isn't all that cool when you realize what it's doing to your intake temperatures. Go get you a front mount and get it done right the first time. Stuff that looks cool isn't always cool at all and that top mount intercooler is definitely "NOT COOL"...........

Thanks Dee!That's what I was figuring. Makes no sense to mount it there, last I heard, heat rises. So I'll do the front mount. Blew the HG on the Pulsar, so why not go DET!Have a CA16DE parts car to, so reading everything you guys have posted about doing this swap. I think I've got everything.Motor and transmission are a unit JDM right now coming from Georgia, includes harness and ECM too!I'm pretty excited about the swap. This thing should ROCK!

YES! Your site originally inspired me to go from CA18DE to the DET. Your site is GREAT and an inspiration for those over here. Thanks! After looking at the N13's with the DET, I said why not, and found a JDM FWD DET with everything needed. So I think I'm ready to go when it gets here. BTW, the Pulsar is my wife's favorite car she's ever owned and was so bummed when the HG blew. Best part about it is that it will have classic plates when I'm done as it's 20yrs old.My Bro has a 93 NA300zx vert, which is no where as solid or as tight at the Pulsar. Now it will be fun to see who's going to blow the other's doors off after the Pulsar is complete with mods.
