My '08 Versa SL 6MT has about 23,000 miles. I noticed a few days ago, from time to time, there is sort of a knocking noise (no, definitely not any sort of engine knock, just sounds like something loose moving about) when I start up and shut off the engine. I know these mounts tend to have problems, but I can't remember how it looked last time I checked it. Anything visually wrong with this one based on the picture?

if you stand on the side of the car, look at the side of the mount. Is it still connected to the circular mount, or is it broken?

Here's another picture of the full mount. Might answer the question a little better than my words.

Looks to be ok, that many miles it should be. I have about 50k, and still good. I am sure a manual beats it up more, though.

I think I was either just being paranoid (The Versa is the first daily driver car I've ever owned that isn't a complete junkheap so I'm used to stuff breaking on a daily basis) or there was some ice buildup or something because I didn't notice that noise at all today. I just remember hearing some people having problems with that mount so I just needed be sure.

Thanks!

The only thing that fails on that mount is the rubber in the center. It will tear and u will notice it. 23k miles wouldnt even make a dent in that peice. I think I replace mine at 150k

Thanks. It's been a few days now and I haven't noticed that noise anymore. I think it must have just been something that got iced over and was flapping around.
