please use the search... we've discussd this a number of times in general... do some research on your own a bit, and then if you have specific qustions, either Applebonker or myself would be happy to answer those!

Hey!

I think the Pioneer Avic Z2/Z3 are the best. They are also the most expensive. You have the 30gb HD and the new 3D maps! Plus, its the newest of all the navis out on the market!

Navigation is suspect on all Pioneer units...

Definately not the best unit out there..... it lacks a decent graphic EQ, Digital Time Alignment for each speaker, 5.1 Dolby surround sound output, USB inputs, accurate Navigation, has slow ipod playback and response, lacks built in blue tooth.... you get the picture..

the 30Gb HD could be considered as a positive, although most folks prefer protable USB drives to a built in hard drive that can/does crash in the Avic units...

the only real positives to the Avic Z3 is the

3D POI's, 12 million POI's, and nicer Navigation screens (although the routing is still poor)

Hands down, the Kenwood DNX-8120 is a better all in one unit!

Yes, this really has been covered ad nauseum. Dollar for dollar, I would recommend the 8120 over any unit out there right now. I do really like the Alpine IVA-W505 (but that is because I would use it with the H701 multichannel processor whereas most people will not). Without the additional audio processor, I believe the Kenwood is the better unit.

There are numerous threads on here with members buying a Kenwood unit and being very pleased with it. There are also threads with members complaining about a number of Pio units as well.

I plan to purchase the Pioneer Premier AVIC-F90BT, and this is only because Pioneer electronics have always been great for me and they are my preferred brand, also all the speakers for my car are premier. I have heard great things about the Kenwood and Alpines.

In your original post you never mentioned navigation and I think everyone assumed that was what you wanted in addition. Pioneer makes a really nice 6.1" screen that has ipod and dvd playback for $400, and I know it has a bypass.
