top hydro fluid low?

so i was cleaning out my trunk today.. and ive only had a vert for about a month. remember that.. i ripped off the gray plastic thats velcroed on in the trunk and found the pump for the top. i looked and it seems low on fluid its all damp under there too. not wet but damp is that normal?

oh and what fluid do i put in there?

my top works fine by the way i was just curious

No, damp is not normal. Everything must be dry. I believe automatic transmission fluid is used for the top pump. Not 100% sure though.

what does that mean then? my pump is going bad? i have a leak? i couldnt find one?

oh and im not new to the whole 240 thing ive had them for 3 years im used to the bullsh*t that comes with them

may not be the pump if your back window leaks water a lil bit then it could be leaking into the trunk from the bag thing that your top sits in when your top is down. either that or your pump is leaking. or the pump use to be leaking and was fixed fairly recently and they never filled it up. BTW does anybody know 100% what fuid to put in the pump? a good thing to know even if its not leaking. G/L

If the pump was leaking, you'd have red ATF all over your trunk. It's probably from your rear window.

You use Auto Trans Fluid for the pump. I'm 110% certain of that

ok thanks guys. atf ftw lol and the liquid is clear not read and my rear window used to leak but not after i fixed it. that was probably the culprit
