Hey guys, My friend has just bought a 92 240sx. We have a friend with a NA maxima running 12's and he wants to accomplish almost the same with the DOHC. Can you guys give me the Top HP you have ever seen with a naturally aspirated 240? Love to see a fast NA 240, they are torque monsters!!! HEHHEHE

i believe the nasport 240s run carbureted KA24Es making somewhere around 275rwhp.

as far as street cars go, the highest i've heard of is around 180rwhp.

is it really that hard to break 200hp with a ka24de? Only 180?!?!?I find that really hard to believe.

thats like 50-55hp over stock... not bad at all.

I could see a high compression KA with forged pistons/rods aggressive cams, polished head, mabye port matched(every instance ive heard of porting a KA head, has led to reduced horsepower, or at least, a poor powerband) header, CAI, good 2.5" exhaust and a standalone making over 200hp to the wheels. good enough for easy 13s in a lightened s13.

I promise you I could hit 200rwhp with 89 ka24e pistons and 99 Altima rings My motor sports cams and a bigger fuel system.

I don’t think a JWT computer and high compression pistons is going to net me 200 RWHP. I think it would take 11.6.01 compressions ported head, and some kind of individual throttle bodies with a stand-alone computer. On this kind of setup I would see probably a little over 200 hp to the wheels. Turbo would be cheaper!

A 275 HP KA would not be fun to drive as an everyday driver. The amount of aspiration this motor would be inhaling would be crazy! I’m sure the down time would also suck because this motor would break things all the time. Not to mention how much it would cost you in fuel. On this kind of motor I would go no less than 117 octane because the compression and the cams would be so radical. It would also idle very high. Even if you waned to go for a little over 200 HP you would still be spending the same amount of money that you would spend on a good turbo setup that would net you 250 or more HP. I would rather get the most for my money.
