so i have a 92 vert. the top worked great but then i decided to do an RB swap.in the middle of the swap i noticed the upper chassie harness was alll messed up and cut up so i replaced it. now after i replaced that and alllll the fuses with new ones the top doesnt work. i have a feeling i missed something with all the auto stuff since i replaced the harness with a manual harness. i know the top wont work when the car is in motion so any help

you have to jumper the park/neutral wire. Check out the 5speed swap write-up, it will tell you what to do

fixed it:

Ok, it's pretty easy once you figure out how to look at an electrical diagram.

Turn to page 20-19 for the wiring diagram. If you look at the top up/down switch, you'll notice it has 5 wires coming off of it.

1 5 3x 6 4

That's the pinout, x is a blank spot in the plug. There's a green wire going to pin 3 that is coming from the inhibitor plug. This is the power wire, it is supplied only when the inhibitor is set to park or neutral. What you do is cut the wire near the switch and tap it into something that is on an ignition switched circuit. I tend to use the radio for a circuit to tap into, but you may want to use something else. The cigarette lighter is a good candidate too. It's tapped off a 15A fuse, and is the only thing on its circuit. Just don't run the top AND have something plugged into the lighter at the same time. The wire for the lighter is Orange/Black. And you can get to it by pulling the center console.
