It's official - the race track that features in the BBC's Top Gear show will now be demolished to make way for a huge housing estate
-By Jon Rogers, The Sun

The move, which has been in the pipeline for some time, has finally been given the official go ahead after the Communities and Local Government Secretary Sajid Javid personally approved the move which will see 1,800 new homes built on the site.

The Top Gear track at Dunsfold Aerodrome is to be bulldozed and turned into a housing estate

The site could also be home to shops, schools and churches which has been an integral part of the popular BBC motoring show since the long-running series was revitalised in 2001.

The aerodrome in Surrey could also get a new name - Dunsford Park.

Leader of the local Council, Councillor Julia Potts, said: "I am delighted that the Secretary of State has granted planning permission as this development will provide significant benefits to the local community, of the 1800 new homes 540 will be affordable.

"The development will also create over 1,000 new jobs and secure substantial financial contributions for much-needed infrastructure."
The race track has featured in episodes of Top Gear since the show was given a new lease of life in 2002.

Not surprising. Once Mr. Powah, Hamster, and Capt Slow departed, the amount of interest in that track dropped.

Well that sucks. The show is still active, right? I haven't watched it much at all since the power trio left.

The show is still active.
The guy from Friends is coming back for his third season (Matt leBlanc?)

BTW, has anyone watched the first two series of the three musketeers...The Grand Tour?
I've subscribed to Amazon Prime and watched both series.
The guys are still the same guys, but their act is getting a little old.
A lot of the same old same old from one episode to the next.
Maybe they've finally run out of fresh ideas.
Hopefully the next series will be better.

And on another TV note, what do you guys think of the new guy on Wheeler Dealers?
I really liked Edd China. Sad he's gone.

Matt LeBlanc was probably my favorite part of the new TG cast.
That being said, I still don't watch it.
The Grand Tour is much better in my eyes. They had a few episodes that were a bit stale, but others that were quite good (Jaaaaaaaaags comes to mind).
I also no longer watch Wheeler Dealers.
