I was going to say the same thing as satown210. Jeremy was making it sound like it was the final show, but then right at the end said they would be back only doing the specials from now on. Last week's show was the last week of the audience in the tent, and the test drives on the track by the Stig. I'm not sure exactly how it will be in the future, but it did sound like the three of them will go on doing the trips and challenges. I hope they continue to test the latest cars, but don't know if that is in the future plans. I found the following article from Dec2018:
"Jeremy Clarkson has clarified The Grand Tour will continue for a fourth season, after saying he’s quitting studio car shows. The 58-year-old presenter recently stated the upcoming third season of the Amazon series will be the last to feature the studio format with a live audience, prompting some confusion over the show’s future. Clarkson has since stated The Grand Tour will be returning for a fourth season, albeit with a slightly changed setup. Taking to Twitter, Clarkson wrote: ‘Can we just be clear on this. The Grand Tour goes on. Amazon has commissioned another series of nothing but road trip specials.’ The end of the studio format, however, might still be a bum note for many – with it being a reliable vehicle for Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May’s scathing banter. Clarkson has already been bragging about the show’s budget for the fourth season, even comparing to that of Marvel Studios. Television presenters of the forthcoming show The Grand Tour. I will miss the banter with each other and with the audience. ‘But we’ve been doing that show for effectively 17 years – sitting around in studios watching cars race around the track.’ He added: ‘We all agreed that we’ve been doing it for a long time and everything eventually runs its course. Besides, I’m 58 and I’m too fat to be climbing on to the stage.’"
