What's the easiest way to get your enging in the TDC position? Do I need a special tool?

Thank you.

Take the valve cover off, put a socket on the crank, turn until the notch on your (SOHC) cam sprocket is pointing straight up.

Can I turn the crank pulley with my hands or do I need something else?

I guesOne way to tell is by taking the distributor cap off and if the rotor is facing the #1 spark plug positiong it means TDC at 1st cyliner...

Is that right?

a long screwdriver down the spark plug hole can tell you if your piston is up or down. That should give you a clue as to what's up.
