My vert no longer has the boot to cover the top when it is down and I've had no luck finding one. Having never seen one in person, I have to ask, is it a solid piece or does it have solid ends with a vinyl in the middle so it can be folded and put in the trunk. If it is solid, how much trunk does it take up? As small as the vert trunk is I would expect you would have no room left with the boot in which is why most verts no longer have them.

It's entirely vinly with hard plastic edge. The ends are a little stiff form the round shape and fold over the middle to fit in the trunk. It does take up pretty much the whole trunk, yes. Some room is left for flatter things if you want to set stuff on top of it. I haven't been using mine because of the hassle unless I know it's going to be sunny for several days and I can just leave it on.

When I get some time and money I'm going to put my engineering skills to some use and see if I can make a power hard cover like on the new saab convertible. It would be easier to use and not take up precious cargo room.
