top bolt on bellhousing removal?

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

Im putting a new clutch in my 91 240 and have done everything so far except for removing the one bolt at the top of the bellhousing becuase i cant get to it. does anyone kno how to get it off so i can get my car back on the road soon. any info would be appreciated.

well i used a really long extension + a socket, also used 1 of those sockets that move and got it from the side(the back) of the transmission.

i used a 14mm wrench from undernieth the car, i put it on the nut then took a long pipe and pushed up on it to loosen it then i took it out by hand from there, its a tricky one.

The top bolt on the driver side I was able to get by going down through the top of the engine bay. I got the one by the starter with a ratchet, long extension, and swivel socket. When I got done, my arm had never been more tired...

impact swivel 14mm, a 2ft; 1/2 in extention on an impact. If you don't have compresseed air just get that ectensino and swivel and use a good breaker bar. If you like techno/dance try DJ Shadow.
