how do you guy's feel about the "evil dead" trilogy????? i always felt that, for a totally "on the cheap" movie, it was a great flick!!! still one of my favorites, the first one at least.

Damn I missed this thread!

Lots of the greats one already mentioned- Apocalypse Now, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Fight Club, Casablanca, The Killing Fields, Blade Runner.

It's good to see both Dark City and A.I. get some love. IMO both grievously underrated masterpieces and both the best movies of 1998 and 2001, respectively.

I don't think this is a list I could ever make, but some of my favs were Dirty Harry, Kelly's Heroes, True Grit, Tombstone, Shane, every Bruce Lee movie, all of the Rocky movies (you know, there where only four of them right?:D) hmmm... Thunderheart was cool

Top Secret, Heat, The Corruptor, Hard Boiled, A Better Tommorow, uh... oh, I really really like Barry Gordy's The Last Dragon (I know I'm not the only one, all you motown martial arts/comedy/romance/adventure fans stand up!) Chuck Norris had some good movies too, some dumb and campy, but still entertaining. and just about anything with both Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder, and most of Mel Brook's stuff, I just saw Blazing Saddles yesterday! (well not really, but a cookie to the person to guess the song!)

way too many good movies out there

oh yeah Citizen Kane is the daddy of modern cinema...

No History of the World Part 1? You people are all sick. :D Mel Brooks is the man. Also mad props to all the Donnie Darko fans. Yeah I missed this thread originally as well. So I figured I'd throw in my input.

Rashomon was the Kurosawa film about a murder being described by different perspectives of people that witnessed or discovered right?
