Actually though that evo was far from stock. It was making around 400+hp. Yes, I'de have to agree some eclipse drivers are well......eclipse drivers. Still love my dsm though

Yeah you def do find douchebaggery a lot more in the entry level upscale cars. All of them think they are Gods gift to earth for owning a 3 series or G35 or A4.

Thats because they attract, in large part, people who aspire to be high class but aren't for whatever reason. Obviously this isn't universally applicable but I believe its the buyers, not the car. People with real status &/or class either 1) don't feel the need to flaunt it, (hence why they have class), or 2) have so much disposable income that buying a 5 series is like me buying taco bell, and therefore go unnoticed from a douche standpoint.

That is why the srt4 is such a "douche"car. Most people serious about performance and not interested in being rice will immediately write it off as a Neon, regardless of how much hp/tq it has.... The people who buy the srt4? Well...

I would also throw in that said people who buy those cars can also be the type who just like the upperscale nature of the car. I enjoy that my car has leather and power and what not, but I can enjoy it without flaunting it and showing off, thus making me less of a prick than someone else who flaunts the car.

And yeah I have noticed in my town a lot of G35 coupe and G37 buyers are older guys trying to be hot **** driving around and racing anything with four wheels.

If memory serves, that EVO was an "FQ400" Yes, the FQ does d for f***ing quick, and the 400 stands for 400hp. It is a factory version of the EVO offered in the UK as well as other markets, just not the US.

I'm pretty sure the original author is about 50, drives a camery for the resale value, and is an avid reader of Car and Driver. You can't simply lump capable machines into doushebag cars for a select few of the owners, like has been stated here already a few times.

Now look, as an SRT-4 owner I have to admit that is is indeed a cheap, sh*tty neon underneath. The idea was bang for the buck, and it certainly delivered. I have to also say that a lot of owners I've seen fit well in the "db" category. The bottom line was this: It's a cheap car that's fast as hell when it runs.

Oh, BTW, I'm currently working on getting the 2.4 turbo from the SRT-4 into my '92 240 coupe.

Regardless of the Fugly Factor, the EVO and STi are both very capable cars. More capable than 80% of what Nissan/Infiniti has to offer.

I've yet to see an "American Muscle" car that wasn't driven by a douche.

Maybe a couple of Saleen Mustangs, but that's about. All of the others need to prove themselves and NEVER do.

I agree regarding the SRT-4s, but I feel that those who agree on here, including the author, have a slight amount of jealousy for the car.

The list also needs to be ammended to remove the 335i from the list of 220hp 3-series cars.

But the rest i would take over your 240 any day.... in fact i think your a little jealous... sounds to me like you may have lost a race with each one of these, or couldn't keep up with them in traffic....

This is the most retarded list I have ever seen. Yes I know its a repost but I still cant get over it.

Maserati- freaking awesome cars for people that have money and dont want to buy a 360 modena like everyone else.

Civic Si- ep3s are a blast to drive.

BMW 3 series- I own one! They're track demons.

STi and Evos- come on, beasts.

Camaros and Trans ams- ls motors, most people on here would love to swap that into their 240.
