I dont know, it was pretty damn easy to remove my driveshaft, granted as long as you have ease of access to under the car and the right tools to reach the bolts at the rear.s13gebala wrote:its easier to remove the front bumper than a driveshaft :]
exactly. its four 12 or 14mm bolts in the back to the diff. then two 14 or 17mm bolts holding the carrier in. then it slides out of the trans. gonna need to drain the trans as well, or its all gonna leak out the output of the trans when the d/l is removed.glitched wrote:

from what i remember, two bolts for the carrier baring, and 4 bolts at the back of the driveshaft. then it slides right out.

Man, dude. You did alot of unnecessary work!S13xCrazy wrote:^^WTF? Big hammer?
I just did it.
The rear bolts are 14mm. You cannot get a socket on any of them. I held the side facing the front of the car with a standard open end wrench. On the back side, I used a 14mm brake wrench.
Remove the rear sway bar for more clearance to move the wrenches.Make SURE that the 14mm brake wrench is all the way on the back nuts, and turn that one, while holding the other still. It lessens your chance of stripping the bolt if it moves a little bit or is a little off.
Then you will need to remove the carrier bracket. Pop off the 'protector' below it, there are 2 14mm bolts holding it on.
Then there are 2 17mm bolts holding on the bracket itself.
Keep your face out of the way incase the driveshaft desides to fall.if it stays up, smack it with a hammer lightly and it will come down.
Slide it out, and your done.
ALSO don't forget to mark the driveshaft at the end. where it meets with the differential.
Pffft...Hammer? I did it with shear power.****, I'm only gonna be wrestling at 145 this year. I'm sure most of you guys are bigger then I am.

i didnt realize that after the four bolts in the back, and the two for the carrier, that it can just slide out of the transmission. its been laying on the ground under my car, still in the transmission since i didnt know what to do next.
thaaaaaaaaanks
no need to drain.maj Andres wrote:There isn't a need to drain the transmission when removing the driveshaft, is there?
I meant to say this earlier, but that's what she said.glitched wrote:maj Andres wrote:there will be some slobber that leaks out when you pull it out, but it's not gonna spill everywhere...
