PB Blaster

Jack

Jack stands - good ones.

Engine hoist/puller/picker of some sort

Metric sockets: 8, 10, 12, 14, 17, 19, 21, maybe bigger too. You'll want 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" drive socket wrenches with the appropriate sockets in the sizes you have. deep and shallow. You're going to want extensions and universals as well if you have them.

Metric wrenches: 8, 10, 12, 14, 17, 19, 21, and bigger if you have them

Line wrenches or crow foot wrenches - 10mm is all I've ever used

BFH - Big ****ing Hammer

Breaker bar or cheater bar (something to put on 1/2" socket wrench to break big bolts loose).

Assorted prying devices: pry bars work great, but if not available you might need to improvise.

Assorted screwdrivers: phillips and standard in various lengths and sizes

Telescoping Mirror and magnet - you never know when you'll need these.

Dikes/sidecutters/wire cutters - whatever you want to call them

Plyers: you're going to want needle nose plyers - assorted sizes are good

Plastic bags, masking tape, and a permanent marker - you'll need this to bag and label bolts, clips, wires, lines, and connectors and whatever else you don't want to loose or forget.

Cresent wrenches and vice grips are used as a last resort, but you never know when you'll need them.

Hack saw or sawzall with a metal blade - might need to cut something...

That's all I can think of at the moment. It sounds like the list of tools I take with me to the "you pull it" yards. Good luck.

^ jerky beat me to it and posted while i was writing mine. Oh well, his list is better than mine anyhow.

hmm, let's see what I can remember.

1.) Socket set. (metric)2.) screwdrivers3.) small 90* turned phillips head screwdriver for removing the fan. 4.) can't remember what size socket the power steering line is.. it's big. (17 to 21 ish)5.) swivel socket perhaps. 6.) breaker bar for anything stuck (like the trans crossmember bolts)7.) flashlight or shop light to see inside fenders and under the car. 8.) jack 9.) jack stands10.) cherry picker11.) bucket/s to drain fluids12.) 12 pack of cold brew.

I'm sure there are a few other random things I'm forgetting... maybe somebody else will chime in and add a couple other things to the list.

Oh! I forgot the brew! Silly me.

No worries, Seth. I've pulled a LOT of engines in my day - I'm experienced.

Probably getting it done tommorrow. He is swappin to an SR so he's gettin rid of the current assembly. I get a certain piece that he doesnt need anymore that is going on the vert. But I'll tell you about that with pics tommorrow

OH! 10mm line wrench would be very helpful as well... I'll have to add that to my list.

I will add that I can fit everything in my list into a tool box that's approximately 24x14x14 (I'd have to confirm dimensions) with room to spare. Of course, this excludes the jack, stands, hoist, and sawzall - I normally don't take those to the "yards" anyway.
