Jack
Jack stands - good ones.
Engine hoist/puller/picker of some sort
Metric sockets: 8, 10, 12, 14, 17, 19, 21, maybe bigger too. You'll want 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" drive socket wrenches with the appropriate sockets in the sizes you have. deep and shallow. You're going to want extensions and universals as well if you have them.
Metric wrenches: 8, 10, 12, 14, 17, 19, 21, and bigger if you have them
Line wrenches or crow foot wrenches - 10mm is all I've ever used
BFH - Big ****ing Hammer
Breaker bar or cheater bar (something to put on 1/2" socket wrench to break big bolts loose).
Assorted prying devices: pry bars work great, but if not available you might need to improvise.
Assorted screwdrivers: phillips and standard in various lengths and sizes
Telescoping Mirror and magnet - you never know when you'll need these.
Dikes/sidecutters/wire cutters - whatever you want to call them
Plyers: you're going to want needle nose plyers - assorted sizes are good
Plastic bags, masking tape, and a permanent marker - you'll need this to bag and label bolts, clips, wires, lines, and connectors and whatever else you don't want to loose or forget.
Cresent wrenches and vice grips are used as a last resort, but you never know when you'll need them.
Hack saw or sawzall with a metal blade - might need to cut something...

That's all I can think of at the moment. It sounds like the list of tools I take with me to the "you pull it" yards. Good luck.
