I wasnt too happy with the result, 9.5 was my best time in the 1/8I still have an open differential and I also had some old $50 tires on from my old 240 so I couldnt get traction at all. Only mods I have are an apexi intake and greddy 3" downpipe. What do you guys launch at when you take off?

It seemed like when I launched under 3000 rpm then I would have hella turbo lag but when I tried to launch over 3000rpm, like around 3500 I would spin too much and couldnt hook up at all. I guess I just need to get some good tires, and the LSD is on the way, also Im still running a catalytic converter with stock exhaust so I know thats killing me, I have an RS-R Exmag and test pipe but theyre not on yet. I think with the LSD, good tires, and the exhaust and test pipe intalled I should be able to break 8's. What do you guys think?

Also I have a walbro fuel pump on the way but I dont think that will really make a difference on stock boost, will it?

man, get that walbro installed immediately!

I never went to the track without atleast drag radials. My very first time to the track I averaged a 9.215 in the 1/8. My low 1/8 mile time for that day was an 8.85. I was launching around 5k and feathering the clutch out to about 4500.

I have since installed an LSD and basically gotten more experience at launching the car. I'm currently launching around 6k and feathering out to about 5k. That netted me a 1.84 60 ft time and an 1/8 mile time of 8.33. 1/4 mile was 13.01 @ 105.5.

It is really pointless to go to the track and expect to run well without atleast sticky tires. Tires are more important when it comes to traction over LSD.

Definitely lose the stock cat as well. Test pipes are so cheap these days.

Yeah I already have the test pipe and the exhaust

These are getting put on tomorow, hopefully they will make a substancial difference...so the fuel pump should help even though Im at stock boost for now?

you will not make more power. but you will not run the risk of trashing your motor due to the fuel pump not being able to support your power level. they are only 90 shipped.

I gotta disagree, you dont need an upgraded fuel pump for those mods, only when you start pushing the boost and you start running lean even though your injectors are not maxed out.

Stock or with your mods, you are not running any more air through the engine, so you dont need any additional fuel. The exhaust will help your turbo spool up faster and help out with how easily the engine breaths.

most SR enthusiasts would consider it dangerous to run a stock sr20 with a stock 240sx fuel pump. This question has been asked and answered thousands of times if you just search.

The stock fuel pump is not reliable (especially when it is 10-14 years old) running a forced induction system. It is not a matter of needing more fuel, but a matter of providing adequate fuel. This especially becomes the case if you decide to "up" the boost. The stock 240sx fuel pump is notorious for fragging motors past 9psi of boost, regardless of your mods.

Just my .02 cents and about everyone else you ask this topic. This is the first time ever I've seen someone say don't need it.

Well Im definetly getting it, its already on the way like I said before. Im not going to be at stock boost for long so theres no point in waiting to get it since it was only like $95 shipped. I just wanted to know would I see any difference being that Im still at stock boost.

Back to the traction issue, I just ordered these tires

g force T/A drag radials

Im going to the junkyard tomorow and Im going to try to get a j30 differential, hopefully these tires will do pretty good, anybody else have these?

I spent 5 or 6 months running on the stock pump, and a few of those months were spent at 14psi. I had no fuel issues.

A stock 240 pump will handle an SR at stock boost. Turn it up, and then you'll need the pump. I do recommend getting one for the feeling of added security.

It's slightly larger but I would suggest upgrading.

For 100 bucks... it sure beats replacing an engine.
