did three passes at the track on saturday.not disapointed but did expect to go a few tenths of a sec faster.my first pass of the day racing my nephews 2003 s2000 with intake downpipe and 477 gears was 60 ft et 2.124 vs his 2.112 330 ft 6.080 vs his 6.007 1/8 mile et 9.325 vs his 9.137 1000 ft 12.133 vs his 11.814 et [email protected] vs his [email protected] have time slip but it is in bad shape. i'm hoping for a 14.3 or 14.2 next time i go. still pretty good for a car of this size and dead gearing! not bad for a car that weighs in @ close to 4000 pds vs 2800 pds!!!!!!

if anyone would like to see the timeslip i have it posted on dragtimes.com. oh and by the way you will notice that there is a post of someone who raced the 2006 m45 and our timeslips are almost identicle! same mph in the 1/8th mile and quartermile trap speed!

I would think that the Y34 bodies would be at least as quick as the new Fuga body due to better aerodynamic lines and a lesser weight, but either way thats GREAT!

i really would love to believe that, but being down 4 mph is a little hard to believe. 96mph - 100 is a big spread. but i do hope your right! also the 1/8th mile mph is down by 2-3 mph. it is suposed to hit 77 in the 1/8th and 99.4 in the quarter but i dont know.

Sure, every pound counts right, so why not remove the backseats and passenger seat as well? As far as Im concerned, I would like to know what I can expect my car to do when I want it to do it as a daily driver. Im not trying to start a fight, believe me, but I drive my car with the spare for a reason so I personally would keep it where it is.cheers

well i did try it without the spare, and tools out but i ended up going a little slower. not that taking out 60-80 pounds would'nt make a difference but it didnt. the run was very close 14.48 - 14.50 but i guess the car has so much pulling power that 60-80 pounds isnt significant enough to make a difference.

Condition of rear tires soft fast wearing as oem? Alignment rear thrust angle and toe?

New Jersey is using ethanolized fuel so expect the torque to be down 3% at least.

on the video nose of the car drops too soon after he launches it. it should stay a little longer up b 4 it drops. honda is the same problem. with all the mods it should be faster thru the1/4.he should spin tires of the line at least for 2 to3seconds while taking off.it is really hard to know how to launch the car right. i garantty with the right driver car wil be faster.i have 18 x 91/2 with 275 35 toyo t1r they will hook up.i am gonna to to the track soon and i am bringing my friend that has 700hp cobra to drive it.so will post numbers then.

the 14.48 for me and 14.0 for him was the first pass of the day for both of us. a couple of passes is sometimes not enough. and by the way that honda most of the time runs 13.8-13.7 @100 mph.he knows how to drive it well. its easy to speculate when your not the driver.different tracks, temp, altitude could make a big difference.it's not always the driver. and by the way my first pass of the day with 62,000 miles and not even sure if it needs a tune up at this time(taking it to the dealer in a few days)matched motor trends quartermile time! i think that's pretty good for a guy that weighs 200 pds and i had full spare and tools in the trunk on that 14.48 pass! so until you post better numbers i would'nt talk about my driving skills.

What kind of launch were you working with? VDC on or off? I've had my best results with VDC off launching around 2500-3000 RPM. Anything higher than that and you'll just light up your tires. I hope you're not working with all season tires too. If you really want good time pick up a pair of cheap-o 16 or 17" rims and some Nitto drag radials. When I had my trans am that was always nice to have at the track.

Caug, you say because you have a specific tire on a specific sized rim that you will hook up with no spin, so since you have no idea what the other cars in question are using how can you critique their driving?

i go by the video. it looed like he did not lauched right. thats all.my tires should do better on the track. they will hook up better, wider better contact patch. i have toyo t1r. if you dont know about thsese tires look it up. size 275 35 r18x9.5 so will try to launch at higher rpms.i did not meane to upset him.i hope get better numbers . thats all.peace evrybody.caug

instead of turning vdc off what i did was take the 2 vdc fuses out to make sure it didnt ingage.my first launch was just smashing the gas but the second was with slight tourqe brake.maybe @ about 1500 rpms.i should have went a little higher, but with a few passes i really didnt know whast was gonna work.like i said before ,i think that for weighing in @ 3988 a first pass of 14.48 is pretty good.i surely was'nt dissapointed!my 60'' time of 2.13 is really good for this car.

also the optimal launch is with some wheel spin. i have the stock mxm4 all seasons which are not great for drag racing but i heated them up enough for them to stick

when the fuses are out the slip and vdc lights will stay on.it feels to me like theres nothing holding the car back.the fuses are in the fuse box under the hood. listen i do feel like i could have done much better, but the car is stock so i'm happy.
