DWAJT and I met up in Christiana Saturday and took some shots. Sure would be nice to meet up with some other Versa owners as well.

thanks. i put it on the fog lights also and can barely tell they are there unless the light hits it just right or they are on. i hope to get the bug guard/hood deflector soon. think that will look good on the black exterior also. was going to get it couple weeks ago but wooddash was out of stock till next year and oakville site was down for over a week and couldn't find it anywhere else. so spent my money on a shark fin antenna instead.

any updates on the hk versa. haven't seen any lately.

Next do some rolling shots. The one without the tinted lights is standing on dropped springs?

Cool pix...

Off topic I know...but I really like the way the shark fin antenna looks. Where did you buy it from? How was the installment?

Keep up the great work guys.

Thanks. The shark fin antenna came from

Code: Select all

http://visualgarage.com/
The install was pretty easy. Actually did mine twice. the antenna comes painted to the vehicle color code and with 2 screws to attach the antenna wire to the base. All that is need is to clean the top of the car, attach the wire to the base and make sure it is straight when attaching to the car with the 3m gasket provided.

When I installed mine the first time I had it crooked so i had to remove it and clean all the 3m gasket off and reinstall with 3m double sided tape. Now on mine it is not sealed properly and water leaks under the shark fin. doesn't leak inside and will run out once driven. so try to get it right first time with gasket provided. much better than the tape. but tape still works.

Think there are some better pics of the fin on the page in my sig if you want to see them.

No updates recently (besides weathertech mats). I've been working both jobs lately, and am lucky to get one day a week off. I haven't even had a chance to wash it in months. Not only has it been too cold, but I don't have time.
Next summer I'll have time off again, and I'll change up the car a bit :)

I like the shark fin as well! I looked into getting one, but with the XM built in; it won't work with the base of my antenna :(

No time to clean your car. you have been busy. lol. yea sure its been cold up there. we had our fist snow this morning. put about 2 dozen flakes on my hood and that was it. lol.

Where is the XM antenna located at. The antenna site gave a solution for that. Something about cutting a slit in it for the xm antenna to go through. one person said he just put the antenna wire under the gasket of the antenna. Might check it out. know some people said they had done it in the feedback. Nobody with a versa. Think i was first person to do it with a versa because there were no feedback or photos in the gallery of a versa. still waiting to see the photos i sent them to show up in the gallery though so who knows.

Yes I've been very busy working; with only Sundays off. Every time it's decent weather outside I'm busy driving from one job to the next, with no time to stop and wash her (I won't go through an auto wash).

My issue with the XM is the base of my antenna is much larger than other's. The site that I looked at for shark fin antenna's said that if you had the larger size base (like mine) that the fin would not work.

Do you actually remove the square part of the antenna? Does the shark fin go on top of that?

Oh and we have not had any snow yet; just very cold temperatures.

the shark fin goes over top of the oem antenna base. might be a problem with that then. i never had xm radio and was thinking it was just an extra wire next to the oem antenna. i know my shark fin barely fit over the base, however i also noticed that my oem base was also put in at an angle which is why the first time i put the shark fin on it was at an angle. I know there was one guy with feedback on the site that had before after pics of it on his mazda 3 hatch. he said he was able to get it to hide his oem and xm antenna. the site i got mine at was

Code: Select all

http://visualgarage.com/
not sure if that is same place you looked or not.

been snowing all day here but not sticking. all melting on contact now. the way i like it. :bigthumb:

That's what I thought with the shark fin (that it went over the base). The site I looked at said it would not fit over the larger bases. I have built in XM radio so the base of my antenna is much larger than the other Versa's that are not equipped with it. I think the fin looks great though. I just don't want to spend the money and then it doesn't fit.

Black does look amazing when it's detailed ...
I detailed the BMW twice this year (once in the spring when it was taken out of storage, and in the Fall before it was tucked away for winter) and it looks amazing when it's clean:

Looking at the pics of a black car after it's detailed makes me want a black car next ...

oh k. i understand now. your xm is built into the oem base. not separate. yea may not work then. def understand, it is quite a bit of money for an antenna. if it was just 15 id say try it out. but its over 80 so be a big waste of money. if you find a fellow versa owner in the area that gets one though would definately try it on yours before they install it.

and yes black is awesome when clean but, as i have found out, is a pain to keep clean. lol
