Took off stock muffler Straight Pipe

I unbolted the two bolts connecting the exhaust to the muffler. started it up and it was really quiet to my surprise. I thought it would be much louder then any exhaust video i have seen. Whats up? Isn't there some kind of resonator in the middle, or is that just the cat. Is that causing it to be quiet. My goal is to make it loud. I dont' want to invest in an exhaust system if its going to be quieter then no muffler at all!?!! If someone could post why that would be great thanks

when i had my muffler off, it had a pretty deep tone, not loud-not quiet but it was right.

last year i took mine uffler off completely and had a new tailpipe made. 2 months later i had my magnaflow cat-back made and it was louder than no muffler.

is the magnaflow cat back a kit you can buy. Also is that muffler looking piece in the middle of the exahaust system the cat. does the cat-back replace that?? any sound clips?
