So, like many GTR enthusiasts, I had been hanging on every blog, article, photo, or Nissan press release that I could get my hands on for the past few years.

Well, today, my patience was finally rewarded...my new GTR arrived!

The dealer is doing the pre-delivery inspection, and detailing her up, then she's all mine. I shot up there as soon as they called and snapped some crappy Iphone photos, I will post better ones tonight.

Some observations:1.) Yes, it has a bit of a clatter at idol, so does my R34 (only because of the twin clutch though). Not a massive problem like it has been made out to be, and I only really noticed it because I was listening for it.

2.) Didn't realize the "hard-drive/CD" area was recessed in so deep. Pictures never captured that...a nice touch and surprise.

Everything is just as expected, it's large, heavy, handles on rails, makes you very confident driving at higher speeds, etc.

Congratulations, mate. I hope she brings you loads of joy.

Now, could we be the first Nissan online forum with the first GT-R owner???

Hmmm, don't really know. Many owners I've spoken with seem a bit older (50's & 60's) than I am, and many are trading in their Porsches towards them. At least that is the jist' I got from people and dealers here in the Northeast. If they are anything like my father, they have no idea how to turn on a computer, nevermind access a forum...lol.

It's been raining pretty steady here for the past few days, I'm hoping for a nice weekend where I can find a nice country road and snap some better pictures.

LOL, my in-laws live in Holden, so I'm in the area once a month or so. We are looking to take the new car up there this weekend, so you may see us around.

BTW...I only work here in lovely Waterbury.

Which now i recently picked up a R32 GTS-T but having a tough time finding someone to register it...? for you do you have Connecticut plates on your other skyline or is this GTR your first skyline??

Is it true you have to get alignment everytime you change oil?

i dont know about that, but i know the damn thing has factory datalogging, bumper to bumper warranty(but "datalogging also includes recording if you break loose and do a burnout or drive 200mph,)a break job costs 5ka tire is 1k(if you even remove the tire they recommend replacing it b/c they're special run-flats)a oil change is 1kyou cant replace the internals if you blow anything..you have to replace the whole motor for about 7k,an alignment is also ridiculously priced....and all this has to be done at the dealer...

to my knowledge we have a few running the streets here in Tampa, Fl, three i've seen myself......and one is already totaled
