Love the pedals

These new seat warmer controls look like a complete afterthought. The old switches looked much better.

Never knew Enkei made these wheels.

It really came down to the "value" of the G37 versus the german competitors. The G is A LOT of car for the money, especially if you are leasing. I'm currently leasing a 335i and the G37 lease is ~$100/month cheaper and I get a lot more car. I really wanted to get back into an Audi (my true love) but their deals just didn't compare to the G37. You're looking at $900/month+ to lease a new S4, which is just ridiculous.SleepyMonkey wrote:Nice! Congratulations
What do you think made you make the switch to this vehicle and/or a Japanese model vs German? I guess I'm wondering if you just basically like the Infiniti or if you had problems with your last German vehicle. I hear a lot of complaints about German automobile maintenance costs (after the *freebie* period if that applies)
dont' get me wrong...i like the added controls. I just don't like the design of the knobs. Looks like a complete afterthought. Like the designers finished the car then remembered that they forgot to put the heat seater controls in, so decided to just stick two knobs right there.Poyzinous wrote:You don't like the new switches? I think the 6 way adjustable knob for heat is way better than Hi/Lo switches. I never understood Lo or Hi seat heat. Maybe I want more than just a little recently-spanked warmth on my butt. Maybe I want less than pepper-spray over sunburned buttcheeks heat. Maybe I want to sear my steak over the seat. 6 (5?) is way better than just 2 options.
Welcome and be sure to hit up a local meet!usctrojan4life wrote:dont' get me wrong...i like the added controls. I just don't like the design of the knobs. Looks like a complete afterthought. I haven't pushed her at all yet. Still breaking her in. Haven't gotten past 4k rpm.fiveliterbeater wrote:wow! beautiful ride buddy! i forgot they still make the G's in manual cause i never really see them.
have you leaned into it yet? are the manual's geared low?
1 out of 100? I'm thinking maybe about 5 out of 100 are manuals. It's one of the few manual options at this price point.usctrojan4life wrote:I haven't pushed her at all yet. Still breaking her in. My dealer told me that ~1 out of 100 G37 they sell are manuals. i find that hard to believe, but they are rare indeed.
I guess I'm the only one in this thread that absolutley adores the BMW M3 (E92, duh!)...wingFeather wrote:If you ever think you're getting "German car envy", just go test drive one. You will be surprised at how heavy they feel compared to the G. I hated my M3's understeer.
IMO, I think G feels (and is) pretty heavy. I think the heavy feel of the German cars is more of a solid feeling. I love my G, but it's way different from a German car. My Audi just feels more solid and tighter, from the steering to overall road feel. either way, both fine cars, just apples and oranges.wingFeather wrote:If you ever think you're getting "German car envy", just go test drive one.
