Loving my brand new G37, but the seat is very uncomfortable, with the bolsters pressing in on my thighs. (No, I'm not unreasonably fat...) I've heard some say the seats relax a bit with time and use - is that your experience. I also have seen some posts indicating people have had someone go in and bend or remove some metal parts to make teh seat more relaxed. Would appreciate hearing about any experiences.

thanks
S (in Pittsburgh, PA)

I have sport seats and when I was pretty heavy didn't have any issues with them. After losing almost 70lbs they seem a bit big at times :)

Above is a consideration.

Maybe this is the motivation I need to lose weight!

Bummer of an evening - Had the car less tahn 10 days, and tonight someone broke the front passenger window to steal my wife's purse

This is a bad time of the year to try and lose weight.....I'm primarily trying to not gain any through the holiday's until I can focus more on losing the remaining to reach my goal.

Sorry to hear about the car issue. Last December I had the wife's G sedan broken into (not really broken into as it was unlocked at the time) and they took a radar detector and the garage door opener. At least they didn't break anything, unlike the neighbors cars down the street that night. Damn thieves.

The S seats suck...part of my reasons for selling the car.

You do have the option of taking the seat to an upholstery shop who can modify the seat.

Hmm...I've not had any issues with the sport seats in either vehicle.

Hoping I can fix it. Will even try a cushion...

Window fixed. Funny thing was, after installing new glass, window would not close automatically, but needed me to hold the window up button. Dealer said I needed to bring it in, because it took a really complex series of button-presses to reset computer. Found instructions to just hold 'window up' for 3 seconds after closing - fixed! I think someone wanted to be a hero...

Anything like that, we can help with. No need to drive to the dealer, it's why we're here. :)

My '03 G seat bolsters were terrible. About an hour after buying the car, I literally had to pull over and get out, as it made my right leg numb (I'm 6'1, 165). I'm not sure why they can't get the bolstering right, although I have heard of some modifications being done to help "widen" the pan.

I'm getting a little used to it but it still bugs me. Thinking of getting a cushion, just so it elevates my tush a bit, to where the side bolsters widen out. Geez.....

No pictures but you can manipulate the seats. Some like it, others don't.

Thanks! Had seen that, but mine isn't the Sports seat and apparently is not supposed to have the metal bars that this mod removes. So, I'm hoping the material simply relaxes over time. (Considering leaving a heavy sandbag on the seat when I'm not in teh car, to accelerate this...)

I'm sure you can cut out some of the foam to make it fit better. I'd just hate to do that to seats that are expensive.

It's not foam...there is metal bars that can be removed. I just didn't want to deal with it.

Thanks. Funny that that little bar can be such a pain....

Does this apply only to the 'sport' seats, or to all models?

Thanks
