What happens when there is too much oil in the crank case? My sister in-law drives an old corolla and her father changed the oil and put in five quarts. I know this is more than the capacity, what will be the results if it is not taken out?

Too much oil will if the rotating crank hits it cause engine vibration and excess foaming of oil. This may place different stressess on crank bearings and lead to earlier failure.

The Q is very sensitive to over filing a quart!
