After I got my trans flush, my TCC shudder got slightly better however its not completely gone away. I added about 3-4 ounces of lubeguard. If I add another bottle (12 ounces) can I do any damage? Basically I added 6 oz prior to the trans flush (hoping that alone would fix my problem), and then after the flush i added the remainder....

i'm assuming you are doing the 'red'. usual wisdom is one oz red per qt of atf. i would not dump the whole bottle at a throw. 2 oz at a time up to the 10-11 oz total for all new fluid.

the universe will collapse if you violate this

..j/k...i don't know what too much does....

I thought Dennis said 6 0z. of Red for the whole system. Between him and texasoil, I had the impression that a couple of ounces either way would affect shift operation.

with the proper fresh fluid{dexron3},especially a premium synthetic{Redline d4, or Mobil 1} there should be no need to add lubegard red to "cure" anything. adding lubegard BLACK will modify fluid characteristics that may help with shudder, etc symptoms of a worn transmission.Basically, with new fluid,if there are any issues with transmission- the transmission needs work!

Not so! Read the posts by texasoil and Q45tech.

Lubeguard Red (never Black in a Nissan!) added to say M1 ATF approximates the properties of Nissanmatic better for shifting.

Fine tuning the additives allows those sensitive enough to zero in and when you go over the hump to pan drain out 2 quarts of ATF and get back to perfect............2 ounce increments allow the 2 quart pan drain [measured] to take the 2 ounces out of the 10 quart total.

Every transmission and every owner will be different as to what they feel is ideal.

The Black is really noticeable the RED is subtle and elegant..

BG transmission Additive works with different chemicals but may accomplish similar results..........we always use this after a BG Quick Clean and flush.

Add more lubeguard RED. The shudder is caused by improper stick/slip characteristics. . Shudder means the coefficient of static friction is too high relative to dynamic (slipping) friction. NEVER add lubeguard BLACK to an Infiniti transmission unless it is already a basket case. You WILL break hard parts with the jerky lock-up shifts caused by lubeguard Black in a Q45 transmission.

Hope we are clear in that it is sometimes worth wasting some LubeRED to see what happens even with old [30,000 mile] ATF.

If it gets better you drain clean and flush to brand new ATF then add LubeRED if necessary or just as a standard proceedure in place of BG ATF Conditioner or together.

The LubeBLACK is used to transform DEXRON into something vaguely similiar to HONDAMATIC.

Isn't genetically engineered sunflower oil wonderful........not for human consumption unless you need to grown extra limbs. [sic].
