I have the s13 blacktop swap in my 90 240sx, and its like i am getting too much fuel. It always smells like gas, and my gas mileage sucks! Also, it will be running good and fast, the out of nowhere it will lose power. I feel like i am driving a bone stock escort! Then all of a sudden, power is back and i am quick again. Any ideas??

stock sr20? what modifications have you done to it?

pulled the spark plugs to see if you are running rich?

check injectors & injector insulators?

check for leaks?

has this always happened? just started happening after some modification?

is timing set correctly?

etc. etc. etc.

its got a front mount intercooler and a blitz BOV. Thats it. I know i am running way rich due to the smell of gas. Its always ran rich. I have to pull the injectors to see if there are any o-rings missing etc.. No boost leaks, already looked for that (my first guess). Tomorrow i am going to pull the plugs and take a look. I will keep you posted. Its like i put the gas to the floor and turbo spins like an m-fer, but no power to the wheels. Dam troubleshooting.

Update.... Spark plugs good, injectors good, vaccum lines good, fuel lines good. The only thing thats a little messed up is the 1st injector clip, part of the plastic guard between the 2 wires is broke, but still seperates connectors. Another thing... crank angle sensor has 2 wires that are a little bare right under the clip. Is that enough to mess anything up?

not sure if those 2 crank wires would throw off your air/fuel ratio, but you might as well repair the wires. Not sure how much this would help you, but check your fuel filter. Hell not sure how much help i've been, keep us updated if you find anything. Any codes?

check your fuel pressure, when the fuel pressure regulator goes bad your fuel pressure or grow up to about 60 psi or more this will make the car run poor and destroy your gas mileage. also check the temp sender located on the water housing inlet they can get corroded and make poor connection. Also the air flow meter and wiring can destroy your gas mileage. I hope this helps

ummm... search, maybe?

For regulator, find the factory service manual (FSM) available for free d/l on this forum. There are test procedures in there.

To check your fuel pressure, you need a fuel pressure gauge... you can search for that also...
