Car: 92 240 hatch running on hopes and dreams

Post

Ok, I have a 92 hatch with stock ka24de. i just fixed a head gasket problem and i know i have all of that situation squared away. my problem now is that it doesnt want to start. it will turn over. i pulled the plugs and every one of them are drenched in gas. so i blew out the cylinders, cleaned the plugs, put it back together, then unpluged the injectors. NOW IT STARTS! of course it dies as soon as i plug them back in. when i drove it home the other day. it had NO power when i mashed the gas untill about 4000 rpm, then it opened up like a mad man. when i say no power i could floor it 5th gear doing 70 up hill and nothing. it would just slow down. it even idles like crap. like it has a miss. when i rev it up its like a very big turbo on it lagging till about 4000 rpms then there it is. it climbs very slow. it has a new fuel filter, plugs, wires, cap and rotor, pcv valve, all new gaskets and vacuum lines. its all torqued and put together like its supposed to. I dont know what to do. Any help will be very much appreciated. thanks

Well, would the cts cause it not to start? And when it did to have crappy idle, almost like there is a hell of a miss? I did see the other forums but didnt think it would cause all of my problems. So, is that all it could be. I've only had this car since about october. so im not too familiar with nissans.

- Make sure the air filter is clean.- Check the ECU temperature sensor and the harness connector.- Check the harness connector for the crank sensor.

Your cam timing may be off.

well i did just do a head gasket change. but i lined all the cam marks up on the the chain and cams and idler sprocket at tdc. installed the disributer with rotor pointing at #1cylinder. and i was sure it was tdc on compressing stroke as well. so would assume it is in time. I HOPE.

ya but it could be off just a tooth. And if it is, that could be enough to make it idle like crap or not at all. Could even be your dizzy is off a tooth, which would explain the excessive unburnt fuel. I would just double check everything. Pull your valve cover and make sure the first cam lobes are pointing away from eachother at TDC.
