you can siphon some from the dipstick tube if you can get a line down it, otherwise prepare to get your hands dirty, take out the drain plug, put your thumb over the hole, let some out, have friend check the oil, keep doing it untill its low enough

For some reason, the people who change my oil overfill everytime. It doesnt seem to affect my engine at all, plus it helps being that my car burns oil occasionally. I dont have to add a quart before the 3k mile mark

its probly because they fill it so fast and dont let the oil fall down through the engine they check it and it looks good but theres still a ton of oil in the head then as it settles to normal and its over filled happened when I took my z to the quick change joints.

if anyone ever take their car to get a oil change at any place, i suggest you stand and watch them do it.

this way they will do it right knowing that the customer is keeping an eye on them.

I started changing my own oil a while ago, mostly for those reasons, a fast oil change is not always a good one. My parents got the oil changed in one of their cars and the guys at the shop took the oil filter off while it was still draining and spilled so much oil on the underside of the car my dad took it back because it was dripping all over the driveway and he thought it was leaking. But whenever I have something done on my car, I stand right next to the mechanic, I even help them sometimes (maybe annoying, but at least I know what they are doing, and might learn something.) They are usually pretty friendly too, and they want to know stuff about my car.

well, when i was a teenager, i worked on weekends at my mom's friends independent autoshop. and everyone who went there, insisted on looking at you work on their car. one time a girl tried hitting on me, when she asked how old i was, she seemed dissapointed.
