too much engine oil

i think this might be stupid for some of u experts.....sorry for that....

but i believe i've been running my engine w/ exceed amount of engine oil....i pulled the oil stick when the engine was heated today, and found out that the oil mark is above the max point of it......

i believe i have been running w/ this for like 1200 miles on.....

just curious would this been causing damage to my engine?coz i have noticed the engine sounds noiser than before the last oil change.....
