what exactly does the gauge say? the engine HAS to warm up, it will no matter the outside temperature is unless youre secretly using this thread so you can brag about a new uber cooling system you went and bought without telling anyone. maybe theres something gone awry with the signal to your gauge? try checkin the ecu for codes, then check the little sensor thats on the lower radiator hose (i think?) and see if its working. im guessing thats the coolant temperature sensor.

my friend took the thermostat out of his geo alltogether and now the gauge just sits at cold. its risen a little bit before but that was on a hot day, going up hill, with gas mashed to the floor. heh

you actually want it to be cold...you make more horse power....if its running then its warm enough. but if you want it to warm up maybe work with your timing a little...play with it advance it a little.....should make it run a little warmer....unless its just not running good at all then i wouldn't warry tomuch about it...heat just robs you of power

Even though you fixed the problem, I'm going to reccomend this incase anyone else reads this on down the road. I had the same prolem once and it was due to the thermostat being stuck OPEN, (which never happens). I simply changed the thermostat and it fixed the problem. Also, you don't want the car to run too cold because the timing is retarded and the fuel mixture is richened.
