too big oil cooler? oil shock? is this possible

i bought a huge oil cooler last year, 11x6x2in thick! is this too much for my ka? will it be too hard on the oil pump?

i plan on running a thermostat sandwich adapter, but im afraid all that oil will just sit in the cooler, getting real nice and cold, and then when motors hot, thermo opens and hits with super cold oil. is this realistic? is this bad? does the termo sandwich still keep some oil moving, just not alot through the cooler?

should i just sell it and get a smaller one? i wanted to mount in pass side aero pod so it would get alot of air. i would have to angle to make it fit anyway. front mounting is difficult because i have flipped intercooler with high pipes close to radiator. altima fans on back of rad. could mount infront of IC, but that seems retarded. ideas?
