Finally after a LONG time, I am going to attempt to put the motor in my car tomorrow. I have Sean (needcafors13) coming over to assist me with it. Hopefully all goes well and I am on here posting that it runs. Either that or I am posting that it's all messed up, lol. Wish me luck!

w00t! Congrats Chris! Let us know how it goes. You've definatly got a good coach in your corner to help you with the install. I'm sure it will go off with out a hitch.

Good luck man, that engine is badass looking. Did you just spray paint it or what?

Hell no! Powdercoating all the way. Only thing with paint on it is the block itself.

Thanks Ryan!

Well, today was a failure. Started out with with the drivers side motor mount not coming off. Sean literally worked on it for like 4 hours. Then, just when we think we are all set, I realize I don't have a clutch alignment tool. No big deal, we'll just use the old transmission sans bell housing as a giant alignment tool. Well, now the input shaft will NOT fit into the pilot bushing. Since it was a brand new KA pilot bushing, we thought maybe we needed the CA one. But I guess they are the same? I wonder why it wouldn't go in? So now the motor is still sitting outside the car. All I need to do is bolt the transmission up, then I can drop it in the car. God, this has turned into a pain. Thank god Sean has patience, because I never could have kept at it like he did.

dude post the picture of the motor mount... hahahaha

I literally broke it in half, then cut it with a grinder some, then a hacksaw, then drilled it from the top and pried it until it snapped in half. I HATE MOTOR MOUNTS. The driver side one always seems to be a pain. Its so hard to get a wrench under there without stripping it out.

Don't be discouraged Chris, we made good progress today, and you really don't have too many difficult things left to do

LMAO!!!!!!!!! Dan do you want me to send you the SWF file so you can just have that intro? Were not interested in it anymore.....I know you made it but isnt it funny that instead of making a new one you just moddified the existing one? Especially since technicly it is the property of Driftek Motor Sports....

I thought you were into drag racing anyway....

Thanks. You have no idea how much I appreciate you helping me out. Too bad you won't be around for startup. I have another pilot bushing here, and I am picking up the clutch alignment tool. I am going to attempt to put it in the car this afternoon. But then I am towing that SOB back to my apartment complex where I can do the rest of it. Much better than having to drive to his place whenever I want to.

But yeah, we made progress alright... we removed the KA, got that crappy motor mount out, ditched the ABS, swapped the CA bellhousing onto my KA transmission, and cleaned the engine bay Not bad for 11 hours of work! lol

Looks damn good!!

And btw, I had your same problem with the pilot bushing in my current KA, as long as you are damn sure it isn't the splines being misaligned, use the starter bolts ( The mad long ones) to since the transmission onto the engine. The bushing is just really tight, thats all. I put the trans in and out of my car at least 4 times by my hand on an agrigate driveway in the rain before I figured that out, lol.

You are now in front of me, car has to be moved from my grandfathers house where my car currently resides, and since my neighborhood doesnt allow working on cars, im sending it to a company called Speedfab. They are gonna finish it, and then Ill get it tuned.

Congratulations crad, youre motor is beautiful, and cant wait to hear how much power it makes.....lol. Keep up the good work.
