I've tried searching and found lots of info about them, but now quite what I'm looking for... Ok, so, if you're using the Tomei solid lifters in, say, a drop in build, you obviously have to shim each one to spec, yadda yadda yadd. My question is, if I'm putting in an entirely new valve train, does each shim have to be adjusted? I figured if every part is new with no wear, I wouldn't need to do this step. Am I right or totally bonkers? Any help guys.

Would have to shim anyways
Another option is to skip the shims and adjust the valves instead
Would need longer valves but would be easier to adjust.

Sorry dude, there's no quick fix to this. If you don't know what you're doing, pay someone that knows what they're doing because this application has to be done right the first time. And lastly, you're going to pay someone some serious $$$s in labor because it is time consuming. I let a machinist put my solid lifter set-up in my head and he did a horrible job. I let him do it because he said he knew what he was doing. I did a leak-down test on the engine and it leaked everywhere. So I took the head of the motor and corrected it myself which took a gang of extensive labor, time and the proper equipment. And they have to be done one by one. Completely assemble, measure (not correct), disassemble, adjust shim, re-assemble, measure (measurement okay), congratulations now move on to the next one :nono:.

Yea, it's super time consuming and if any part of the valve train changes, they have to be re-shimmed.
