I have the wrong exhaust poncam from Tomei and already have it bolted in place. I have a new cam sensor, but it's for my S2. I'm worried about the turnaround time from Tomei, so I'm wondering if this Neo camshaft will work in my S2 engine if I just swap the cam sensor?

Here is a picture of the key (sorry, it was in the car and I had to hold a light to get it to even partially show up)

Nope. Ramp rate is too aggressive for hydraulic lifters.

Well bummer. I guess I'll undo everything and try to swap it out. I hope they take an exchange considering I've already had it in the motor. If not, I might have one for sale shortly.. =/

Is this also true for the intake cam? If so then I suppose that's coming back off too.

Man, I'm so confused. Maybe my brain is not working today, but this part number matches up for a series 2 RB25DET, so any idea why the key is not matching up to my series 2 cam sensor?

your S2 could be like mine and have the older style CAS. Mine has the silver cas like on the S1 rather than the black CAS. That's one idea but the cam might not be properly marked.

Here is a picture of the CAS I have that somebody else took. I have the star pattern with the half-moon inside.

I wish they had a diagram or descriptions of this when you view websites. I just bought a new cam sensor too (broke my first one trying to take it apart for the AEM CAS wheel swap like an idiot).

According to Tomei, that model number is for a Series 2 RB25DET "Type B" and not a NEO. So I suppose I can swap the CAS afterall.

very VERY late r33 s2 motors used the black cam angle sensor and that type drive...so just toss on the black cas and roll with it.
