Tomei 264/264 8,5 poncams
Hi i just bought tomei poncams with 264/264 8,5 lift to My rb25det spec 1 nvcs with lash type/hydraulic lifters. I have installed tomei type a springs too.

But The problem is The car missfire and everything. When i checked comp on cylinders some have VERY Liw like 4-5 bar and some 11 bar.

Then when i installed The oem intake camshaft i had normal comp in all cylinders with 264 exhaust CAM left in engine.

Camwhells are oem.

This CAMs are dropins says tomei.

Anyone that knows or have seen problem like this?

Ur compression being lower is normal due to the cams, however it should drop the same for all cylinders. Atleast that's how it was when I install my poncams. As far as the misfire, start with the basic stuff, u need to check that ur mechanical timing is right then check your ignition timing with a light. Check ur coils and plugs make sure everything is well. hopefully someone else on here will shimmy in on this.

Yes Thats Why i wonder what The problem is. IT drogs to Half of The best cylinders and nothing at all on one or two. Everything worked fine with oem camshafts. Its The intake side that Cause this. All markings are good on The engine Also timing, ignition coils and everything. There is no info of those CAMs on tomeis website.

Tomei doesnt make a 264

Never heard of Custom Tomei cams.. not sure why someone would pay for custom cams when you can get that profile from HKS.. Id be leary of those or maybe a call into Tomei would clear it up..

I could be wrong, just havent seen that before.

He might be talking about tomei type b cams. Anything bigger than that I believe needs head work to be able to install them wich are the procams and they 270s.. but then again some call the type b a procam, I can't remember atm. But I check my cam card in the am. And make sure what the actual size is but i believe they are 260s. I have type b on my neo..

That's a bit weird. Didn't you get the cams specs sheet with the cams? The ones describe on that Egay listing match up to the 256 type a cams. Atleast that's what I can tell from my cams sheets I got from tomei when I got my cams.

Btw i just check my cam sheet and type b are 260s
