So its a LITTLE sad, since I grew up with him and Dan Rather telling me all about the world.

But this Fark.com member said it best:"I think all anchorpeople should only be on the air for five years. Then we wouldn't have this ridiculous, overpomped hero worship for.......dorks that read the farking news?"

aahh okay i think i did hear something about that. im more of a producer type than an anchor type though. i do a lot of video stuff, and one of my friends shoots music videos for a fairly large record label.

also a lot of people hate me because i know the guy that invented real world and the road rules, either because they hate the show or they love the show and they hate me because i know him. lol

meh, i sure won't miss him. That guy that's going to replace him is annoying.

In fact, all of the mainstream news reporters are annoying...

Brokaw's annoying, but I loved Dan Rather.

Disagreed with his political views, but he could always be counted on for a hilarious "country boy" quip.

And the time he was on Leno chewing tobacco, and displayed his old-school "spitting skills" was an absolute classic.

Dan Rather is cool as hell.

That quote from Rather about talking to Edward R Murrow's ghost is hilarious. Whack job man. John Stewart should try the news.
