I've decided to try running some Toluene to see if that helps the car run any better in the upper rpm range. I started off today by pouring a gallon in the tank then filling it up with 93, so right now that comes out to 94.3 octane. After driving it for a few minutes it feels about the same except my misfire > 6000 rpm doesn't seem to be near as bad. I'm going to do some more driving tonight (90 degrees outside and no AC is hell) to see if it feels any better.

On a side note, I got 24.2 mpg last fill up :) I'm impressed. Hehehe.

I'm betting teh misfire is gone cause your injectors probably had some $hit in them and the toluene cleans them. I dumped about 4 gallons of toluene in my tank to my 10 gallons that I had in it, and it ran decent.

Actually after running it tonight it is still there. Since the misfire is worse at night (ie cooler outside) I'm betting it's my coil packs. I'm trying to source some replacements from WDRacing but he seems to be really busy so it's kinda hard to get in touch with :D

Although I will try dumping another gallon in next time I fill up (since I always fill up with ~ half a tank left it will increase the toluene concentration) to see if it helps any. Maybe 1 gallon of toulene for 14.9 gallons of gas (we have a 15.9 gallon tank right?) isn't enough to tell any difference.

You've probably already said this in another thread.. but what are your plugs gapped at?

At first they were .81 mm but since the misfire still persisted I gapped them down to .76 mm. And for reference they're NGK platinums...part number PFR6A-11 I believe. I think it's my coil packs that are going bad. The car has trouble starting in the morning and like I said misfires > 6000 rpm quite often. When I checked the resistance of my coils, two tested at .8 ohms instead of .7 ohms so maybe these two are starting to fail and causing bad spark under load.
