I was looking around online for motor swaps and came across tokyomotorimports.com. They had some good prices for the Redtop SR and a RB20DET. I gave them a call and placed my order for 2 Redtops and a RB20DET full swap, which cost my brother, a friend and me a little over $4000 all together. I had made they order with Mike. I kept in touch with him until the motors got in from Canada. Once the motors came in I was shocked. One SR had dead grass and was rusting with sodium and calcium deposits all over the motor. The alternator was rusted, the starter was rusted on the inside, cam angle sensor was broken, both SR ECUs were bent, a wiring harness was hacked, oil pans bent, mid plates bent, and speed sensors where cut, RB ECU, RB MAF and RB wiring harness was missing. I contacted Mike as soon as I look the motors over and told him that this was unacceptable. He then started telling me to shut up. Well, I am not going to let someone tell me to shut up over the phone nor from a different country. I told him to put his boss on the phone and he refused. I told him to put someone else on the phone and once again he refused. After arguing for a few days about everything. I sent the broken parts back at my expense. I sent them the alternator, starter, hacked wiring harness, cam angle sensor, and a hand written letter of the items I sent along with the parts I am still missing.

A week later I call Mike at TokyoMotorImports.com and ask if he had received my package. He said yes. Then he proceeded to tell me that he is not going to sent the RB harness or MAF and started telling me to shut up once again after I tried to explain the agreement we had in place. I hung the phone up and reported them to the BBB of Quebec. I had a friend call mike back and try to talk but after only a minute my friend hung the phone up, threw it and started screaming about how he is the worst person to talk to period and how he could even get a word in. Another friend of mine called them and had a little better luck. The deal he made was to get all the parts that are broken replace (like I tried to do), get a little refund and get my shipping refunded for the package of broken parts I sent back(like I tried to do), and get the RB ECU. As for the wiring harness and MAF, he said tough luck.

Here I am two and a half weeks later and still no parts or money. I have called and no one answers to make me feel even better.

I hope you guys read this before you think about buying from them and if you have already... sorry for your loss.

I will post images as soon as I can.

Yeah thats s***ty, most of the time these dealers will be scumbags. That's why when I buy engines I drive to the store and hand pick out which engine I want.

How come you didn't find one in your area?

Most of the time if they have cheesy names like that, they're a no go.

Maybe some more research on the company would be a better idea. I'd much rather pay 1.5x the price and get it from a reputable place

man that sucks a** but you get what you pay for in the end. 4000 just sounds way to good to be true for 3 engines. i hope that you get reimbursed some day or buy a plane ticket and go up there with some brass knuckles and kick some a**

Agree^

Sorry to hear that, but yeah $4,000 for 3 motor sets is too good of a deal.

From a respectable dealer thats not even enough for two motor sets.

I also agree with the 4000$ for 3 engines being a little low, as in getting what you pay for.I paid 2000$ for my sr alone, and that thing was mint inside looked like it had maybe 20k on it. Til I lost oil pressure lol (my own fault)

Thanks for posting, OP. Buying used off the net is almost guaranteed to go wrong.
