Does any know where I can find a Tokico front strut for my 96 q45. I have learned that they are not shipping new inventory and may be going out of buisness. Even the sites that say they have them, don't. Any information on alternatives would be helpful. Ebay has some that fit years 1990 to 1993. The only thing I can find are OEM that are a bit expensive. Thanks.

You're correct, all of us 90-96 owners are kind of screwed. There's really not a secret source right now. Sorry I don't have better information for you.. :(

My eyes are still on another G50 as I am approaching 350k. Coils from japan would be my only other option.....

2 weeks ago I called Strutmasters since they showed a set of their coilovers (which are built with Tokico blues) still in stock. A week later and no coilovers, I called them and apparently someone had pulled the bushings from that set so I got a refund. Last Wednesday I get a call from Strutmasters and they said "Don't scrap your car, we're getting a new supplier for those shocks and we'll have more in stock this coming March." I've already ordered another set of aftermarket coilovers but if my suspension weren't the mess that it is already I'd just wait. I trust Strutmasters, even though they dropped the ball with my order they made things right and showed genuine interest in filling the niche for us G50 owners, apparently there's a lot of interest with G50s down there.

Thanks for the update on this! So are they getting a new supplier, like that's not Tokico? I'd really be interested to see what they had to offer, particularly if they had some adjustable ones.

Unfortunately I had to get off the phone with the guy as I was in line at the post office when he called but no matter whether its Tokico or not, whichever company it is will have the aftermarket to themselves. Also, not twenty minutes ago I got a call from Jerry at D2 and it looks like they no longer have any coilovers for 94-96, so I will be receiving my 2nd refund in two weeks. Gah! Looks like the K-Sports you have to weld are the only option till March, if these new ones even really come out.

Coming from someone who just sank near $4k in maintenance parts and labor the last 6 months, this situation SUCKS.

I guess I should have asked more for the pair of fronts I sold last year.

Sorry to hear, but what's the availability of the Z32 versions?

I've seen some good reviews in Maxima world about a strut named Sensen. It seems to be an up and coming company that might make a run of Q45 struts if they could justify the setup expense. I would start encouraging Sensen to address this market since Tokico is OOB.

There has got to be some company in Japan that still produces struts. Kamikaze, JIC, TEIN,
