Check this out- I'm pretty sure its a kit that include 4 shocks/struts and 4 springs. not bad for 390 shipped to my door. Anyone have a setup like this or any input? I'm not looking for extreme handling but I'm sure this will be better than my OE suspension that has 192k on it. Thanks for your help.

I'm getting 4 tokico shocks installed tomorrow. I'll give you my impressions after the weekend, after I have a few hours of driving under my belt!

For that price, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR??? Thats about the price of my 4 shocks alone! And I shopped around for 2 weeks! Are they used or something? Still, 4 springs and shocks for that price, unbelieveable (unless it was a civic).

sorry to tell you dude, but that deal is for shocks ONLY, no springs attached! :P

Its still not a bad price, not a great price either, but a nice start to a suspension upgrade. Just make sure to get the springs installed with the shocks, to avoid paying twice for installation, unless you are going to do it yourself.

You also need a camber correction kit, if you are going to add springs to lower the car. If you are adding shocks only, forget what I said. http://www.pdm-racing.com has the camber stuff you'll need, as well as really cheap strut tower braces. $40 US each, front and back. check them out, they may even have shocks for your ride for a good price.

Im gonna do it myself, with the help of a friend who has done it a few times. Thanks for the info. If i have the camber correction kit, and im lowering about 1.5-1.8 inches. I can just take it to a garage and they will do an alignment for me? Thanks for the info btw, i called overboost and it is just the shocks, I want to find the whole kit, a buddy of mine bought shocks and springs for 400 shipped- tokico's. It was an acura though, there are alot more parts available for them.

Yeah, don't ever expect to pay the same price for our parts as honda parts. Trust me, I found out the hard way many times. Shop/stores just don't stock our parts, and pretty much everything has to be special order, so you're paying full price from the manufacturer, unless of course, you know some distributors. Well, I'm not certain about the s13, but for the s14 the front uses a camber bolt for correcting alignment, the rear uses bushings. I've heard for my vehicle, the rear camber can be corrected with the OE setup, so I elected not to buy the rear bushings unless I feel necessary. I'm going to run rear pillow mounts in the back, hopefully that may comensate a litlle. I have the camber bolts for the front. I figure the front bolts should be easy to install, rear bushings sound a little more complex, I would take that to a shop. And definitely go get a proper alignment done after installing shocks/springs, could be dangerous without.

Shop around, even locally. I found some good prices for shocks on the net, but called this one shop who is giving me thier price, so long as I do the install at their shop. They also gave me the best price on install, they are a new shop so I guess they need the work. Shop looked capable of doing the work, so I'll give them a shot.

oh, also try http://www.shox.com for shocks, they gave me the 2nd best price, and guarantee the lowest price. They couldn't believe the price I got, $660 Canadian taxes in, which isn't cheap, but you get what you pay for, right? Also look for the kyb agx's for your ride, pretty sure pdm has them in stock.

good luck

Thanks for the info. Correct me if I am wrong, but i think the S13 has factory adjustable camber. I remember reading that in my chiltons somewhere. Anyone know anything about this?

Yeah, for alignment purposes on OEM suspension parts, the camber can be adjusted and corrected. But once you lower your car, it totally throws your camber off. Looking from the rear of your car, your tires will look like this

Well, obviously not that drastic, but you know what i mean. You can still drive your car with out of whack camber, but it will chew up your tires and cause uneven wear, so it will start getting expensive when you have to start buying new tires every 6 months. Trust me on this one bro. Go contact Don Nimi at PDM racing, explain your situation and what you expect to gain from upgrading your suspension, and he will reply with what best suits your needs. Don is a really honest guy, and unbiased, he even sent me to other web sites because his store didn't carry the parts I was looking for. Very knowledgeable and a great guy to chat with. The front camber bolts are like $25 US, bushings for s14 are $60US, so its not a huge hit on the wallet.

Going to pick up my car in 2 hours, I'll let you know how the tokicos perform on Monday! Can't wait!!!!

peace
