Yeh, I said it! I'm not proud of it and chances of me owning one are slim to none but I still think this is one badass car!

I'd rock it!

Second-generation Imperials (I think Imperial Crown limos only?) had swivel seats that rotated to greet you when you opened the door and returned to the forward position when you closed it.

Jesda did you know they had an 'office' option for those. Check out the new Hemmings Classic Car this month.

The proportions are SO perfect and the ornamentation is enough to look expensive without being garish or gaudy.

It's been awhile since I paid close attention to classic car prices, but three grand for a car in as good shape as the seller claims seems so low as to be fishy. That is effing gorgeous though.

hell, I even loved my Uncle's '81 Imperial for the few days I drove it around.

I think I might have to get one for myself some time.

it's essentially like driving a couch around.

I think its the lack of love for Imperial. If it was a Cadillac, $10k+ easily in that condition. Imperial resale values seem to be even lower than mass-market Chevrolets and Fords.

That car is gorgeous. I'm seriously considering buying it. Now to explain to my wife why we need a 43-year-old car....

Because it's better to indulge in your manly wants with that, than hooking up with a 23y/o chick?

Jesda, I thought you were more of a Caddy lover than Imperial lover.

I had a loaded mid 60's gold Chrysler Newport as a company car (yard car), many years ago. It shared the same platform as the Imperial, which had it's own body. It rode like a baby carriage, very plush couch like seats, tons o'chrome, including the column gearshift (which burned your hand in the summer), and could be steered with one finger. It was not a fun car to drive, as it wallowed so much, and chugged gas each time you hit the gas, you also felt the heft despite the power. But the ol' girl did fire up every time.

My father owned one of these until I was 13 years old (he was original owner).

Before I married my wife, I said to her "If me restoring a 1965 Buick Riviera will be an issue, now's the time to say so."
